Are You A Shopaholic !!

Shop, Shop, Shop till you drop! Today the options for shopping are so enormous that most of us have become ‘shopaholics’. I still remember my childhood days when a new outfit meant a special occasion like my birthday or Parsi new year. Mom would buy a nice piece of cloth & get it tailored into a beautiful dress from an old aunt who used to be the only tailor in my vicinity. This was then…..Ready-made clothes were unheard of or were way too expensive for the common man. We have come a long way! Today the world is at our finger tips & shopping has not only become easy but hassle-free too. But with this blessing comes the biggest bane of becoming an impulsive shopper!!! Coming back to my question are you a Shopaholic? If yes, how to control the urge to...

Would you wear a Sari to the Boardroom?

With a growing number of Indian women occupying top positions in the corporate sector & more women breaking the glass ceiling to show women power does the ‘Sari’ make its way to the boardrooms? As kids we grew up seeing our principals & teachers wear some of the most exquisite saris & they were all people who commanded the most respect! This five yards of cloth in beautiful colours & bright patterns draped delicately around the body is the essence of feminine attire. One of the oldest & most sensuous  attire, the Sari is associated with grace and is widely regarded as a symbol of Indian, Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan culture. If worn in the right colours & textures, draped well with the correct blouse, it goes a long way in creating an...

Narendra Modi truly an Inspiration !

Narendra Modi truly an Inspiration ! For years I have wished our country would have a leader like the US, UK & Germany, finally that wish has come true in the form of our honorable PM Narendra Modi. Off late I have been closely watching his every move & hearing almost all his interviews & speeches only to be inspired & feel happy & proud to have someone like him at the helm of our country. Here are a few of my observations & insights on our PM which makes me give him a 5***** rating. To start with his Oratory Skills Speeches – He has the ‘Gift of the Gab’. His speeches are so well scripted that will keep anyone glued to their seats wanting for more. Even though they look impromptu they are not! That is the beauty  of  the way he...

Getting back to work after a Sabbatical

»Posted by on Apr 5, 2014 in Blog | 2 comments

One of the most common reasons for women to take a sabbatical is to look after their young ones. Post Maternity leaves get extended for a few more months to almost 1-2 years. Many brave women dare to sacrifice their career & financial independence to give their best to their child i.e. ‘Time’. A mothers presence makes a lot of difference in the initial stages of a child’s growth. At such a tender age all they want is to see their mom’s around. If mothers are able to spend enough time with their young ones during the initial years of childhood then the development of the child will be more positive & secure. I’m sure most mothers would vouch that no one can look after their kids better than them. But after a certain point they too wish to get back to work,...

How to Make an Impression

To make the First Impression a lasting one you need to get a few things right and work towards it. We often hear people getting impressed with the way a person dresses, carries themselves, speaks, such people inspire others & always stand out. Initially they had to put in effort to look the part, stand out from the crowd but later it becomes their personality. So what are they doing to get it right always? Have you ever given it a thought? It’s all about getting the 5C’s right It starts with Confidence. Self Confidence is by far the most important quality to bring out the best in you, not just once but always.
